A doula provides non-clinical educational, emotional, and physical support as well as client advocacy and partner reinforcement. These services are typically during the prenatal, birth, and postpartum period, however these same principles can be applied to many aspects of wellness.
A monitrice is a "clinical doula" (typically a RN or midwife) that provides doula care alongside clinical assessments during the early stages of the birthing process spent at home. This includes listening to and evaluating baby’s heart beat, evaluating maternal vital signs, performing vaginal exams, and helping you decide the optimal time to head to the hospital. Once you enter the hospital setting, all clinical assessments shift to your hospital nurses and care providers, and the monitrice continues to provide doula support.

The Indi Women's Club has partnered with My Daily Choice and Commons to bring you natural and holistic CBD products used to support your overall wellness.
CBD is known to aid in many female specific conditions including PMS, PID, Fibroids, and Postpartum Depression. It can be used in conjunction with other health interventions and serves as an alternative to pharmaceutical medications.
This is one of many ways we deliver information, education, and tangible wellness items to our consumers and clients.
The Indi Women’s Club is a growing collective of healers, educators, practitioners, clinicians, and birth-workers who believe in health equity for all. Our mission is to promote the overall positive health status for women of color regardless of gender assignment, gender identification, or gender expression; by applying the biopsychosocialspiritual model of health and infusing cannabis into all facets of wellness.
Hi, Budz! My name is Keyz aka The Wellness Doula. I am a Chicago native currently living in Sacramento, Ca. I first found my passion for maternal and infant health while studying Public Health at The Ohio State University. After moving to California, I wanted to expand my knowledge from prevention and education to intervention. As a recent graduate from San Francisco State University school of nursing with a minor in women’s health, I bring an interesting perspective of clinical practice to doula support.
I offer clients access to information, tools, and resources that will help them sustain wellness over their lifetime. Moreover, as a certified doula and cannabis consultant I aim to educate, normalize, and advocate for the use of therapeutic cannabis in women’s health, particularly in aspects of fertility and birth. My goals include healing communities of color that were harmed by the war on drugs by reducing barriers to accessing cannabis, and improving birth outcomes for Black birthing-people by restoring the cultural and medicinal connection between cannabis and womb health for all members of the African diaspora.
